XL
Ford lists a standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 at 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft, a 10-speed automatic, and 4x2, with 4x4 available. The FX4 Off-Road Package is listed as available on XL. Cloth bucket seats and a second-row bench seat five. Published tow is 7,500 pounds only with the Trailer Tow Package. Payload on Ford's chart is 1,767 pounds for the 2.3L 4x2 and 1,763 pounds for the 2.3L 4x4. Confirm the package on the sticker before you plan a tow.
XLT
XLT keeps the 2.3L as standard and adds the available 2.7L EcoBoost V6, listed at 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft, in 4x4. Ford also lists a Sport Appearance Package, an available Advanced Towing Package, and a power moonroof with a power-sliding rear window marked late availability. 4x2 is standard. 4x4 is available. The 7,500-pound tow figure still needs the Trailer Tow Package. The 2.7L payload on the chart is 1,513 pounds.
Lariat
Lariat is the comfort trim of the same midsize SuperCrew. Ford lists the 2.3L as standard and the 2.7L as available, plus power heated ActiveX front seats with driver memory, a 12-inch center display, a 360-degree camera, and Zone Lighting. Drive types match XLT: 4x2 standard, 4x4 available. Towing is the same published 7,500 pounds with the Trailer Tow Package. None of the packages are automatic on a Newport Ranger.
Raptor
Ranger Raptor is the performance truck, not a package on an XL. Ford lists a standard 3.0L EcoBoost V6 at 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft, 4x4 only, FOX Live Valve shocks, a Watts-link rear suspension, and electronic locking front and rear axles. It asks for 91-octane. Ground clearance is listed at 10.7 inches, against 9.3 on the other trims. Towing is 5,510 pounds, with the Trailer Tow Package standard. Payload is listed at 1,373 pounds. EPA figures are 16 city, 18 highway and 17 combined. These are allocated. Call 870-523-5559 before you drive from Jonesboro or Searcy.
Engines, the bed, and towing
Ford lists three Ranger engines, all with a 10-speed automatic. There is no manual. The 2.3L is 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft, on 87-octane, standard on XL, XLT and Lariat. The 2.7L is 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft, available on XLT and Lariat, and Ford's chart shows it with 4x4. The 3.0L is 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft, exclusive to Raptor, on 91-octane. EPA estimates Ford publishes are 21 city and 25 highway for the 2.3L 4x2, 19/24 for the 2.3L 4x4, 18/23 for the 2.7L 4x4, and 16/18 for Raptor.
Every 2026 Ranger Ford describes is a four-door SuperCrew that seats five, on a 128.7-inch wheelbase. The bed is one Styleside box, 59.6 inches at the floor, 48.2 inches between the wheel wells, and 43.5 cubic feet. That is a shorter bed than an F-150. Fuel is listed at 18 gallons, or 20 on Raptor. Payload follows the chart above, not a single number for every stock unit. Ford's summary line says 1,788 pounds. The chart's highest figure is 1,767. Use the window sticker.
Ranger is not an F-150
The 2026 F-150 is a larger pickup, with different cabs, beds and tow ratings. The 2026 Maverick is the compact unibody, with a shorter bed and a much lower published tow rating. Ranger Raptor is not the Bronco Raptor. If you need more than 7,500 pounds of published tow, or a longer bed, say F-150 when you call.
