George Kell Ford · Newport, Arkansas
The Escape is sold at George Kell Ford, 3710 South Van Dyke Road, for as long as Ford-built stock remains. Ford has posted that the Escape is being discontinued for the time being, so a fall window sticker is not a promise of a 2027. Read the model year on the VIN. Horsepower and tow figures below are Ford's published 2026 numbers. They change with the engine and the tow package.
Shop new Escape inventoryFord's Escape page says the model is tapping the brakes and is being discontinued for the time being. George Kell Ford can sell the units already built and still on the Newport lot. This page describes that 2026 equipment. It does not describe a 2027 Escape Ford is not building. Call 870-523-5559 before you drive from Jonesboro or Searcy, and ask which stock numbers are still here.
Ford lists Active with the 1.5L EcoBoost, rated at 180 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and all-wheel drive available. It seats five. Torque for the 1.5L is printed on the window sticker, so it is not repeated here. There is no manual. Confirm the drive type before you plan a trip in the hills.
ST-Line is the appearance trim of the same compact crossover. Ford lists the 1.5L EcoBoost on ST-Line as well, with all-wheel drive available. It is not an Explorer ST and it is not a Bronco Sport. Packages on a Newport unit are whatever that VIN was built with. Ask for the sticker.
Platinum is the comfort trim. Ford publishes a 2.0L EcoBoost and a hybrid for the higher Escape, so the engine on a Platinum is a sticker question, not a guess. The 2.0L is listed at 250 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. A Ford window sticker for a 2.0L Escape lists 280 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm and an 8-speed automatic. Do not assume every Platinum in Newport has that engine.
Ford lists the hybrid at 192 total system horsepower. The EPA estimate Ford publishes for the all-wheel-drive 2.5L hybrid is 42 city, 36 highway and 39 combined. The plug-in is listed at 210 total system horsepower, with an EPA-estimated all-electric range of 37 miles, 101 MPGe combined, and front-wheel drive as standard. A Ford plug-in sticker lists the gas engine at 163 horsepower and 155 lb-ft. That is the engine, not the system output. The hybrid head term belongs on this page. It is not a separate model.
Ford lists four Escape powertrains. The 1.5L EcoBoost is 180 horsepower. The 2.0L EcoBoost is 250 horsepower, and a Ford window sticker lists 280 lb-ft and an 8-speed automatic for that engine. The hybrid is 192 total system horsepower. The plug-in hybrid is 210 total system horsepower. There is no manual transmission. EPA estimates Ford publishes for the 1.5L with front-wheel drive are 27 city, 34 highway and 30 combined. For the all-wheel-drive 2.0L they are 23 city, 31 highway and 26 combined.
Towing follows the engine and the package. Ford's FAQ lists up to 3,500 pounds when the Escape has the available Class II Trailer Tow Package and the 2.0L EcoBoost. Other engines are listed from 1,500 to 2,000 pounds. Those are published maximums. Confirm the rating on the VIN. The Escape seats five. It is a compact crossover, not a three-row.
The 2026 Explorer is a larger SUV, with its own trims and a higher published tow rating. Bronco Sport is a different unibody and stays a separate shopping question. If you need three rows, say Explorer or look at the Expedition. If you want a pickup, the Ranger and the Maverick are the Ford trucks on this hub.
