What's new for the 2027 Expedition

• 30th Anniversary package. Ford's 2027 page shows a 30th Anniversary package on the Platinum, pictured in the new Blue Ember Metallic. It brings 22-in. ebony bright-machined wheels, "30 YEARS" badges, black exterior accents, an ebony grille, "30th" scuff plates and laminated rear side glass.
• Family Travel Package. New for the Active: 360-degree zone lighting, a device holder with 60 W USB ports in the front seatbacks, the Flex Powered Console, a panoramic Vista Roof, a 40/20/40 PowerFold third row and remote start.
• More 4x2 choices. Rear-drive 4x2 is now offered on King Ranch and on more Platinum versions.
• Towing equipment. Trailer tow prep becomes standard on more versions, and the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package can be added to more 4x4 models.
• Laminated windshield is now standard.
• New colors. Blue Ember Metallic, shown on Ford's 2027 page, joins Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Nocturnal Blue Metallic.

2027 Expedition trims and the Expedition MAX

Retail trims are Active, Tremor, Platinum and King Ranch. The Expedition MAX is the extended-length version, offered on Active, Platinum and King Ranch but not Tremor.Ford's 2027 page lists seating for up to eight, depending on trim and second-row choice.

Engine and towing

Every 2027 Expedition uses a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic. The Tremor and the Platinum Ultimate and Stealth Performance packages step up to a High-Output version of the 3.5L.

• Expedition 4x4: up to 9,600 lb with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, excluding 24-in. wheels; 9,300 lb for the Tremor with its High-Output engine; 9,200 lb with 24-in. wheels.
• Expedition MAX 4x4: up to 9,000 lb with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package.
• 4x2 models: up to 6,000 lb for the Expedition and 6,300 lb for the Expedition MAX.

Ford's figures are for properly equipped SUVs and assume a 150-lb driver and a 150-lb passenger. The Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package is offered on 4x4 models only, and Ford calls for a weight-distributing hitch on trailers over 7,000 lb.

Screens and cabin technology

Ford's 2027 page shows a 24-in. panoramic display paired with a 13.2-in. center display. BlueCruise hands-free highway driving is included on several versions, such as the King Ranch and the Platinum Ultimate Package, so ask how a specific Expedition is equipped.
