2027 Chevrolet Silverado HD in Newport, Arkansas

What's new for the 2027 Silverado HD

• Duramax 8.3L Turbo-Diesel V8. An all-new available diesel rated at 555 hp and 1,230 lb-ft. GM calls it its first clean-sheet, in-house heavy-duty diesel, and it's built at DMAX in Brookville, Ohio.
• Upgraded 6.6L gas V8. A new intake manifold, revised lubrication, an engine-mounted oil cooler and a digital oil-level display.
• Electric power steering. A rack-and-pinion system with about 30 percent more output than the previous hydraulic steering gear.
• Electronic brake boost with 14.6-in. front rotors and four-piston front calipers.
• Updated drive modes. Revised Tow/Haul and Off-Road modes, plus a new Terrain Mode with one-pedal off-road driving on the ZR2.
• Custom Trail Boss. Trail Boss is offered on the Custom for the first time.

2027 Silverado HD trims

Chevrolet lists WT, Custom, LT, LTZ, ZR2 and High Country for the 2500HD and 3500HD, in 2WD and 4WD. Chevrolet's preview page shows a 13.4-in. touchscreen, a 12.3-in. driver display and standard adaptive cruise control.

Engines and towing

For properly equipped trucks, GM lists up to 20,000 lb of conventional towing, up to 38,000 lb gooseneck and up to 46,500 lb GCWR, and says every diesel dually can tow 30,000 lb or more. Ratings depend on cab, bed, axle, hitch and equipment, so ask us to check the exact truck.

Trailering technology

Up to 14 camera views, including Transparent Trailer View, an in-vehicle trailering app, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert and trailer tire pressure and temperature monitoring.

When the 2027 Silverado HD arrives
