2027 GMC Sierra 1500 in Newport, Arkansas

Updated October 9, 2026, from GMC's September 22 specifications release, its June reveal, the 2027 press kit and gmc.com. Some ratings are GM estimates, and GMC is still announcing configurations.

What's new for the 2027 Sierra 1500

• An all-new exterior and interior, with GM's new user interface featuring Google built-in and Gemini.
• A 16.3-in. center touchscreen (an available articulating version hides a storage space), a 12.2-in. driver display and an available 11.5-in. front-passenger screen. The Denali Ultimate has more than 60 in. of combined screens.
• New 5.7L and 6.6L sixth-generation V8s, and a TurboMax uprated by 40 hp and 25 lb-ft.
• Super Cruise with trailering, standard on AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate and available on Elevation.
• The MultiPro Tailgate gains four tie-downs, for 16 in all, plus an integrated ruler, and a new MultiPro center console joins it.
• A new available fuel tank of about 34 gallons, and a panoramic sunroof that GMC calls a Sierra first.
• Newly standard safety features including Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking.
• Up to 19 camera views, including washable underbody cameras, and a Trailer Brake Gain Assistant.
• New colors Mesa Red, Azurite Blue Metallic and Dark Ridge Metallic, and a new Chrome Exterior Package.

2027 Sierra 1500 trims

Pro, Elevation, AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate, plus an AT4X AEV Edition that GMC lists as arriving later. The SLE and SLT aren't part of the 2027 Sierra 1500 lineup. GMC's spec tables cover Regular, Double and Crew Cab with 5'6", 6'6" and 8' beds, in 2WD and 4WD, and GMC says Regular Cab, Double Cab and other configurations will be announced as production expands.

Engines, towing and payload

Every engine uses a 10-speed automatic. A new My Mode drive mode joins the lineup, and the AT4X adds Baja mode.

When the 2027 Sierra 1500 arrives

GMC says the first 2027 Sierra 1500 trucks will reach dealers before the end of calendar 2026, with more configurations announced as production expands. Call us for the latest on what we expect and when.
